The Geri Hall Clinical Leader in Residence program was established in 2023 to support leadership development for DNP students in the College of Nursing.
Students in this role lead projects focused on interprofessional collaboration, innovation, and community partnerships with the priority of maintaining and updating the Geri Hall Progressively Lowered Stress Threshold (PLST) Model Repository.

Randi Boell, BSN, RN Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Student – Health Systems
Randi is the Director of Medical/Surgical/Pediatrics and Critical Care Unit at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll, Iowa, and is completing her DNP project at Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove, Iowa where her project was launched. With over 18 years of nursing experience in rural healthcare settings, Randi has served in a variety of clinical and leadership roles and brings a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in these settings. Her clinical background includes caring for patients across the lifespan, with extensive experience with adult populations.
She earned her practical nursing diploma in 2007, associate degree in nursing in 2008 and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2020. Currently, she is pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice in Health Systems at the University of Iowa College of Nursing and is the Leader in Residence at the Csomay Center for Gerontological Excellence. Her professional passions include advancing rural healthcare delivery, mentoring the next generation of nurses, and leading system-level improvements that enhance both patient outcomes and healthcare work environments.
As the Clinical Leader in Residence at the Csomay Center for Gerontological Excellence, Randi is immersed in initiatives that promote excellence in gerontological care, leadership development, and interprofessional collaboration.
