Viviana Ramirez

Please help us welcome Viviana Ramirez to our team at the Csomay Center as a Spring Intern! Viviana's internship will focus on three major projects. She will be outlining a strategy for the university to seek “Age-Friendly University” status. She will also be working with Csomay Center community partner Crowded Closet to create staff training videos centering on best practices for onboarding and working with older adults in the workplace. Her third goal is to help distribute Csomay Center information to numerous student groups across the university campus, including groups at UIHC.

Viviana is from a small town called Clinton, Iowa. She is currently on the Pre-med track, majoring in Psychology with minors in Chemistry and Aging and Longevity Studies at the University of Iowa. When asked why she chose her field of study, she explained that her passion for understanding the human mind and helping others guided her academic path, especially her goal of improving the quality of life for older adults.

Her hobbies outside of work and school include volunteering in the community and running whenever she gets the chance, which helps her stay grounded and energized. Her ultimate career aspiration is to become a Geriatric physician, where she can make a meaningful impact by providing compassionate care and promoting healthy aging for her patients. We are so excited to have Viviana join us!
