Jo Hoyt Freeman Dementia Education and Outreach Fund Person-Centered Initiative developed provider-focus training that is based on The Family Involvement in Care (FIC) for Persons with Dementia Evidence-Based Guideline©.  Easy-to-use, online training modules will based on FIC principles to enhance partnership-building between family and staff. Additional modules will focus on helping providers “know the person” with dementia and provide person-centered care in the context of changing needs. Twelve modules will be developed using an iterative approach involving staff evaluation and feedback focused on usefulness, and will be evaluated in a small pilot program and using an online questionnaire. The provider-focused training complements the family focused FIC-based training that is available the Iowa Geriatric Education Center (IGEC).
